The 28 year old
pianist Christian Skovgaard Flarup received his Master Diploma in the
summer 2008 and graduated from the postgraduate programme 2010 from Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark with professor Anne Øland as his
teacher.
Christian is born and raised in Odense. At the age of 7 he attended Odense
Music School where he completed the MGK education with pianist Inke Kesseler.
In
2002 Christian began studying at The Royal Academy in Aarhus with
Sergei Senkov
and from 2004 with Anne
Øland.
He has taken part in summer
courses in Hungary 5 years in a row with Attila
Némethy,
Gyöngyi Keveházi, Ferenc Kerek, Gábor Eckhardt and Balázs
Szokolay as permanent teachers.
Furthermore he participated in
master classes with
Irina Osipova, Hans
Pålsson, Mikhail Petukhov, Jeremy
Menuhin, Sven
Birch, Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna and Paolo Pollice.
For half a year Christian
lived in Moscow,
where he studied at ”Russian Academy of Music – Gnessin” by
professor / head of faculty Sergei Senkov.
Here he established a passion for russian music and culture.

Besides playing the
piano, Christian is also very passionate about teaching. Together
with pianist Mathias Hammer, he is composing and publishing a book with
pedagogical music pieces for children.
Alongside playing the piano and teaching, Christian also played church organ for several years.
From academy he also has an exam in the subject "Arrangement".

Christian loves ”playing with the piano” / improvising, and he arranges and composes as well !
